Simultaneously looking back while looking forward, Jaxxee creates music that blends the classic sounds of blues and soul with a forward-looking vision. Finding a balance at the crossroads between trip-hop and funk, her moody, sultry vocals are commanding, evocative and timeless.

Hailing from Victoria, British Columbia, Jaxxee’s musical journey began later in life. A self-taught musician, Jaxxee is inspired by powerhouses Donna Summer, Aretha Franklin and Erykah Badu, in addition to the sounds of Portishead, En Vogue and Black Pumas.

In 2023 Jaxxee released her debut single 'GONE' and follow up, 'so tired'. These offerings, marked by their powerful vocals and dark grooves, garnered national acclaim, receiving airplay on esteemed platforms like CBC's Marvin's Room, Radio One Vancouver and Sirius XM’s Canada Talks - That Eric Alper Show. 'GONE', a poignant exploration of healing from past trauma, was accompanied by a visually stunning music video that underscored themes of generational resilience, featuring Jaxxee and her daughter Maddox. Meanwhile, 'so tired' delved into the exhaustion wrought by the demands of modern life, resonating with listeners on a deeply relatable level. ‘so tired’ landed Jaxxee a place on Music Mecca’s Top 10 emerging artists of 2023 and both songs showcase Jaxxee’s ability to blend genre and create music that sounds both classic and contemporary.

In April 2024 Jaxxee pushed into new collaborative territory, releasing the swaggering tongue-in-cheek disco track, ‘How it Goes’, as a collaboration with producer Neil Jam3s. This marked the first collaborative release between the two with more to come in the pipeline. 

As she continues to evolve as an artist, Jaxxee remains dedicated to her mission statement: create timeless music that feels both fresh and exciting, and pays homage to the great music that came before.
